AgreGtr Analysis
The NOCO Genius Boost jump starter receives overwhelmingly positive feedback for its reliable starting performance, ease of use, and compact portability. Customers praise its ability to jump-start a wide range of vehicles—from lawn mowers to large trucks—and appreciate its multi-function design as a power bank and flashlight. Battery longevity is the primary concern, with a minority of reviewers reporting charge retention issues over time.
Pros & Cons
- Starts vehicles immediately across a wide range of types including trucks, boats, and lawn mowers
- Extremely compact and lightweight design with included carrying case for easy storage
- Much easier and safer to use than traditional jumper cables
- Functions as a multi-tool: jump starter, USB power bank, and 7-mode flashlight
- Holds charge for extended periods, enabling multiple jump starts on a single charge
- Some units reported failing to hold a charge over time
- Inadequate instructions included, making first-time use confusing for inexperienced users
- One reviewer noted the clamp connector chipped when attaching to the battery terminal
- May not work on severely depleted batteries with voltage too low to be detected
- Initial charge before first use can take up to half a day
