AgreGtr Analysis
The Samsung 55-inch 4K Crystal UHD TV receives overwhelmingly positive feedback for its vibrant picture quality, value for the price, and smart TV responsiveness. Most buyers are impressed with the color clarity, ease of use once set up, and strong performance for both streaming and gaming. The primary complaints center on a cumbersome mandatory app-based setup process, a reported pattern of units arriving with damaged screens, and the absence of an optical audio output.
Pros & Cons
- Vibrant, vivid 4K picture quality praised across nearly all reviews
- Strong value for money at its price point for a large-screen 4K TV
- Responsive smart TV interface with a wide selection of apps and free streaming content via Samsung TV Plus
- Surprisingly good built-in audio that works well as a driver for external soundbars
- Slim, lightweight metal design and sturdy stand make placement flexible
- Mandatory smartphone app required for initial setup, frustrating for less tech-savvy users
- Multiple reports of units arriving with cracked or damaged screens, including at least one repackaged damaged unit
- No optical audio output limits soundbar and external audio connection options
- Default settings include intrusive ad-filled Samsung streaming content and data collection (though both can be disabled)
- Remote control is small and reported by some as laggy or overly sensitive
