AgreGtr Analysis
These Sony over-ear headphones receive strong praise for their best-in-class noise cancellation, impressive sound quality, and exceptional battery life, making them a popular choice for frequent travelers. However, a notable portion of customers report serious durability concerns including cracking hinges and broken joints, alongside reliability issues such as random shutdowns and audio dropouts. Comfort and value for money opinions are divided, resulting in an overall mixed but leaning-positive customer experience.
Pros & Cons
- Best-in-class active noise cancellation that effectively blocks ambient noise
- Excellent sound quality with wide dynamic range and crisp audio
- Outstanding battery life requiring charges only every few days even with heavy use
- Intuitive companion app with full sound customization options
- Lightweight build that many users find comfortable for extended wear
- Multiple reports of headphones cracking or breaking at the hinge after a few months of use
- Reliability issues including random audio cutouts and devices turning off unexpectedly
- Comfort is inconsistent — some users experience ear pain or overheating during extended sessions
- Shallow ear pads reported as insufficient for users with larger ears
- Value questioned by some given durability failures at a $300+ price point
