AgreGtr Analysis
The Apple Magic Keyboard with Touch ID and Numeric Keypad receives overwhelmingly positive feedback from customers who praise its smooth typing experience, reliable Touch ID authentication, and solid build quality. Most buyers acknowledge the premium price but consider it justified within the Apple ecosystem. A few minor frustrations—such as the absence of backlighting and a relocated Fn key—are noted but do not significantly dampen overall satisfaction.
Pros & Cons
- Touch ID works flawlessly for unlocking Mac, approving purchases, and autofilling passwords
- Smooth, quiet, and comfortable typing experience with just the right key travel
- Numeric keypad praised as a productivity game-changer for spreadsheets and data entry
- Exceptional battery life lasting weeks between charges with fast USB-C recharging
- Slim, sturdy, premium metal build that integrates seamlessly with the Apple ecosystem
- No backlit keys, which is a drawback for low-light environments
- High price point consistently noted across nearly all reviews
- Fn button relocated to lower-left, disrupting muscle memory for users of previous Magic Keyboards
- Touch ID only works with M1 or newer Macs, not Intel-based MacBook Pros
- One report of paint peeling on the black model after only 6 months of use
