AgreGtr Analysis
The ASUS TUF B650-PLUS WiFi is broadly well-regarded as a solid mid-range AM5 motherboard offering strong value, reliable performance, and feature-rich firmware. The vast majority of buyers report stable, trouble-free operation across gaming, productivity, and Linux use cases. A minority of users encountered boot issues, a DOA unit, or driver/BIOS update complications, though most of these were resolvable with some troubleshooting.
Pros & Cons
- Excellent price-to-performance ratio for an AM5/DDR5 platform entry point
- WiFi 6 and Bluetooth work out of the box, including on Linux
- Feature-rich UEFI/BIOS with extensive overclocking and system control options
- Builder-friendly layout with good spacing, M.2 heatsinks, and pre-installed I/O shield
- Proven long-term stability reported across heavy workloads including gaming, streaming, and video editing
- BIOS update required before Ryzen 9000 series CPUs are recognized — no out-of-box compatibility
- Outdated WiFi driver listed on ASUS support page causes confusion (Realtek driver mislabeled as Mediatek)
- At least one verified DOA unit with power instability, and seller/return process caused significant customer hardship
- PCIe 5.0 limited to first M.2 slot only — PCIe slot for GPU is 4.0, which may confuse buyers expecting full 5.0 support
- Back panel USB port count considered insufficient by some users
