AgreGtr Analysis
The MacBook Neo receives overwhelmingly positive reviews from customers who praise its exceptional build quality, impressive performance from the A18 Pro chip, and outstanding value at its price point. First-time Mac users and those switching from budget Windows laptops consistently report it exceeds expectations for everyday tasks including web browsing, streaming, school work, and light productivity. Minor hardware limitations such as the lack of a backlit keyboard, limited port selection, and slow charging speed are noted but do not meaningfully detract from the overall experience.
Pros & Cons
- Exceptionally rigid, premium aluminum build quality with no flex or creaking
- Outstanding battery life that easily lasts through full days of use
- Excellent trackpad and responsive keyboard, among the best in its class
- Impressive performance for everyday tasks — web browsing, streaming, docs, and even light video editing — powered by the A18 Pro chip
- Outstanding value for the price, widely praised as delivering MacBook quality at a surprisingly affordable cost
- No keyboard backlight, a notable omission at this price
- Only two USB-C ports, requiring a hub for users needing more connectivity
- Slow charging — bundled charger is only 20W and maximum supported is 33W over USB-C
- Interior chassis edge is slightly sharp, which can be uncomfortable during extended typing sessions
- Screen does not fold flat or rotate, limiting versatility compared to convertible laptops
