AgreGtr Analysis
Customers are overwhelmingly positive about the Fire TV Stick HD, praising its easy setup, improved slim design, and ability to transform older or 'dumb' TVs into smart TVs. The new remote and streamlined interface receive specific compliments, and many reviewers highlight the excellent value for the price. A small number of users noted minor issues such as a missing CNN app on the new Vega OS and the short included USB-C cable, but these did not significantly dampen satisfaction.
Pros & Cons
- Extremely easy and fast setup, often automatic with existing Amazon account
- Slim new design fits better behind wall-mounted TVs without blocking other ports
- Improved remote with more tactile, responsive button clicks
- Works well with older and 'dumb' TVs, reviving outdated displays
- Excellent streaming quality across all major apps in one place
- CNN app not currently available on the new Vega OS version
- Included USB-C cable is very short (~1 foot), requiring an extension or power adapter if no USB port is on the TV
- Package lacked printed setup instructions (one reviewer had to use YouTube)
- Initial buffering issues on some units, resolved by a reset
