AgreGtr Analysis
The Instant Pot Duo Crisp Ultimate Lid receives strong praise from most users for its impressive versatility, combining pressure cooking, air frying, and numerous other functions in a single appliance with a single lid. Long-term users highlight excellent performance across cooking modes, easy cleanup, and great value as a space-saving multi-appliance replacement. However, a notable minority of reviewers report serious reliability issues including stuck lids, locking mechanism failures, error codes during pressure cooking, and in at least one case a unit arriving dirty and malfunctioning from the start.
Pros & Cons
- Highly versatile 13-in-1 functionality replaces multiple appliances and saves counter space
- Pressure cooking and air frying modes both perform excellently with consistent results
- Stainless steel inner pot preferred over ceramic/enamel competitors and is easy to clean
- Large 6.5-quart capacity suitable for families and meal prepping
- Sous vide, yogurt-making, and dehydrating functions add premium value
- Lid can become stuck and unable to release pressure, sometimes for hours — a known and recurring issue across multiple reviews
- Lock slider mechanism can freeze in place, rendering the unit unusable
- No dedicated manual pressure release button creates safety concerns during error states like C7
- Slow cooker mode takes excessively long to preheat (up to an hour) and produces uneven heating
- Unit is heavy (~25 lbs) and tall, making it difficult for some users to lift or see into from counter height
