AgreGtr Analysis
The Instant Pot Duo Crisp 8-Quart receives overwhelmingly positive feedback from buyers who praise its versatile multi-function cooking capabilities, particularly the combination of pressure cooking and air frying in a single appliance. Reviewers across skill levels — from casual home cooks to restaurant professionals — highlight significant time savings and reduced cleanup compared to traditional methods. Minor criticisms center on the bulky air fryer lid, cleaning challenges, and the large 8-quart size being more than necessary for smaller households.
Pros & Cons
- Air fry and pressure cook combo eliminates need for separate appliances and saves significant cooking time
- Versatile across a wide range of cooking methods including sous vide, roast, steam, slow cook, and dehydrate
- Pressure cooking function is reliable and hassle-free for meats, rice, beans, and broths
- EvenCrisp air fry lid produces evenly cooked, crispy food comparable to or better than standalone air fryers
- Large 8-quart capacity is ideal for batch cooking, hosting, and functions like sous vide that require more space
- Air fryer lid is bulky, heavy, and requires extra counter storage space and a protective mat while in use
- Cleaning the lid basket and the lid-locking area on the exterior is cumbersome
- 8-quart minimum size may be too large for smaller households or kitchens
- No one-pot steam-then-crisp function requires workarounds with two inserts
- Learning curve for new users, including non-intuitive steps like pressing 'start' after setting time, with no included cooking guide
